how to relieve Pelvic Floor tightness
Pelvic floor symptoms aren’t just about weakness—tightness and tension play a major role too. Many people assume they need to strengthen their pelvic floor, but if there’s too much tension, those muscles can’t function properly. In fact, one of the most common contributors to issues like leaking, pain, or urgency is a pelvic floor that is overactive and unable to fully relax. If you skip over addressing this tightness and don’t teach your pelvic floor how to move through its full range of motion, you may struggle to make progress or fully resolve your symptoms.
Since we can only access a small portion of the pelvic floor externally, we use indirect techniques to release tension and restore normal movement. This includes breathwork, hip and core mobility exercises, and nervous system regulation strategies to help your pelvic floor relax and function as it should. The video below will guide you through simple but effective exercises to relieve pelvic floor tightness and improve how your body moves and feels.
