We are here to change and help improve the standard of prenatal care women receive. There is an orthopedic explanation for your symptoms that we can help to correct with prenatal physical threapy improving your quality of life and allowing you to enjoy your pregnancy.

when should i start?

This depends on the person. If you have any complaints like pain or pressure we recommend start sooner rather than later.

If you do not have any complaints and want to work on birth prep and proactive treatment we recommend starting mid 2nd trimester. It is also ok if you start later or earlier. There is no one size fits all approach at Empower and we tailor your treatment for you!

what does treatment involve?

It does depend on the complaints but the majority of our prenatal physical therapy sessions involve manual therapy (soft tissue mobilizations both internal and external as well a joint mobilizations).

We work on breathing coordination to help your core (this includes your pelvic floor) work optimally as well as strength and mobility training. We emphasize a lot of education about your how YOUR body can work optimally for you.

You will be active participant in your health!

We also perform dry needling depending on the patient. It is very safe after the first trimester. If you want to learn more information about dry needling click here.
