Pregnacy Strengtheing Exercises
Pregnancy is hard on our bodies. Our center of gravity keeps changing, our abs are getting stretched out and our organs are getting pushed out of the way to make room for baby. Our bodies can handle these changes more easily by staying constant with exercise. You may have heard conflicting information regarding exercise during pregnancy but the American Center of Gynecology and Obstetrics or ACOG supports exercise during pregnancy as long as there are no contraindications. Exercise has also shown to be very beneficial to both baby and mama. Some benefits of exercise are:
decrease risk of gestational diabetes
improved postpartum recovery
decrease in preterm labor
decrease in cesarean birth
decrease in operative vaginal delivery
increased incidence of vaginal delivery
improves postpartum recovery
improves mental health
